On Sunday we held our annual pre=season meeting at Warrington Fire Station. 19 members attended and the morning was spent on a training session held by former paramedic trainer and keen cyclist Steve Evans MBE. Steve, a member of Liverpo
ol Century Cycle Club has a special interest of treating injuries to cyclists and visits clubs to give information and training. We all found his presentation fascinating and learned a lot which we will apply when dealing with incidents on the road ...We are most grateful to Steve for giving up the morning of his wedding anniversary to talk to us.....let us hope his wife is forgiving ! We then went up the road to the nearby Toby for a lovely carvery Sunday lunch.
We then returned to the fire station when we had a long discussion about what we are going to do this oncoming season, It looks like it will be the busiest on record with further events expected to come in over the next few weeks or so. After the business side had been completed it was time to play and we had a photo session on the back of the vintage Dennis fire engine which is based there. We are grateful to the Duty Crew at Warrington and Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service for hosting our meeting.
