On the weekend of the 26/27th September three members of the Bike Marshals Team made the long journey to Rothsay on the Isle of Bute off the west of Scotland for the annual Festival of Cycling. The job had been in the planning stage for many months and we were very much looking forward to the race round the island. On Sunday the 20th September we also sent a team to Blackpool Airport for the 2026 Base to Base Motorcycle Ride for the North West Air Ambulance Charity. They operate two aircraft, one based at Blackpool & the second one at Barton heliport which is near Eccles on the outskirts of Manchester. Sunday 20th September two members of Bikemarshals returned to Winsford in Cheshire to assist with the Salt Line Cycle Ride 2026. Its the third year we have supported the event raising awareness and very much needed cash for the locally based St Lukes Hospice. The cyclist on a a circular route around leafy Cheshire, just one minor incident dealt with b y the BM Team.

We returned to the Holt /Wrexham course on the morning of Sunday the 12th July to support the Paul Cookson Road Race The late Paul was a well loved racer and is sadly missed. Our Moto Si hobnobbing with the celebs, Emmerdale star and farmer Kalvin Fletcher On the 4th July we supported the Cheshire Dash Cycle Sportage as we have done for the past three years or so. Based at Wilmslow two rides took place each with Bentley support vehicles ! Pleased to say there was no incidents or injuries and a lot of money raised for charity A great day !

On Sunday 24th May, four members of the Bike Marshals team travelled to Northampton to take part in the Northampton Irish Tractor Club Run to Belmullet in Southern Ireland which was to start the following morning. A convoy of 15 vintage tractors will depart from Northampton raising money for disadvantaged children in the area and Ireland, the target was £60,00 On the evening our guys together with the hero tractor drivers were hosted by the Swan & Helmet Irish pub

Bikemarshals were invited to attend the Fleet Services Summit in Manchester to be on a panel along with Driver First Assist and other senior road safety professionals , answering questions from the conference delegates about the importance of first on scene and bystander intervention & first aid at the scene of road traffic collisions and incidents. Friday 27th February saw the team travel to Chester on a cold and wet night but it didn't stop the Bike Marshals or the hundreds of sponsored walkers enjoying the evening. It was the first time the event had been held in Chester and was embraced by the local population. The pre event entertainment was fantastic and although numbers were not as great as was hoped it would be great if the event became an annual event.

On the evening of Friday the 6th February our Team returned to Liverpool to support the annual Clatterbridge Cancer Charity Glow Green Walk round the famous sites in the Liverpool city centre. Braving the weather, which wasnt very kind to us this year, over 1000 walkers set on the event which covers about 8 miles passing famous sites such as the two Cathedrals (yes Liverpool boasts both RC and Anglican versions) and the famous Cavern Club, once home of the Beatles.
