GLOW GREEN NIGHT WALK

On the evening of Friday the 4th February, coinciding with the World Cancer Day, our team attended at Exchange Flags in the centre of Liverpool to support an 8km walk around the famous sites of Liverpool. The walk started accompanied by a (very loud) Samba Drum Band. It was a very cold and windy evening but the hundreds of walkers dressed in green followed the route to the Pier Head, along the riverside, up through China Town, via the massive Anglican Cathedral to the Metropolitan Cathedral (otherwise fondly referred to as'Paddy's Wigwam' where some of the Catholic walkers held a short candle light vigil before returning to the flags via The Cavern Club. All this was to firstly raise awareness tp the dreadful cancer and money to the fantastic Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Our team was stationed at various points of the course and at the start/finish to give reassurance to the walkers, many of which were females and also to provide a first aid resource ........fortunately there was very little for us to do.....only one casualty attended, a male having an asthmatic attack, and he was not a walker ! Very happy to report that the walkers raised a fantastic £105,000.00 a truly magnificent sum......I am sure we will all be there in 2023.
